Stewardship Season Begins: Faith-Filled Generosity
October 4, 2020
Dear Friends of St. Peter’s, Livingston,
Each one of us has been impacted by the disruptions, losses, and anxieties that this year has brought to our communities. The coronavirus pandemic has tested our resolve, and in some ways, our faith. The refrain I hear time and again is: thank God for prayer!
In some ways, we are stronger, more resilient, and more connected than we have ever been as a Church and as a community of neighbors.
- We’ve experienced the challenge of not being able to gather in person, and found creative ways to reach out to one another.
- Our Sunday worship and fellowship has continued uninterrupted online via Zoom.
- We’ve offered online opportunities for special times like Holy Week and special groups like children and families.
- We’ve reached those who are home-bound and those who now live in other parts of the country and no matter what the future holds, we’ll continue our virtual presence.
Thanks to each one of you doing your part in your homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, families, and here in our church. This coming year, we will explore the way that our generosity is inspired by our faith, how we are formed and led into relationship with each other in these challenging times. This is what we mean by “Faith-Filled Generosity.”
- How will you discover and use the gifts you have been given to help our church this year?
- How will you hear the Gospel call to seek and serve Christ in all people, and respond with generosity?
As I look at each family, each individual in our community, I realize that we are the stewards of God’s grace because we give to the world from what we have received. In the next weeks, you’ll receive a pledge card. I invite you to consider with grace and prayer how you will share with God and God’s Church from what you have received.
In the spirit of generosity and love,
Rev. Elizabeth
